Episode 51B
Nov. 3rd, 2009 01:10 pm51B
The glitz and glamour encountered later that evening was everything that
So
It was exciting and exhilarating, and
Not for anything.
“Oh my fucking leviathan!”
Genesis looked at Yuffie when she so loudly blurted her slight blasphemy. He was busily fanning himself with his black lace fan and trying not to look single or pathetic or any mixture thereof. He followed her gaze and saw
With none other than
“Still say they aren’t an item?” Yuffie chortled, and flopped around in her seat.
“I just don’t get it,” Genesis said, confused. “I mean…I really don’t. If you knew what I knew – ”
“Then tell me,” Yuffie laughed. “And we can share our common confusion!”
Genesis shot her a quelling look but she kept her smirk in place.
“Honestly, do I look single to you?” he asked, changing the subject. Though he was curious about Yazoo’s presence and, frankly, shocked that she would so publicly cuckold her husband when she had always been so respectful of him in the past, he in no way wanted to get into what he did and did not know about Reno. Because that would give rise to a whole other slew of questions that he didn’t wish to answer, and so subject changing was the best policy, in his opinion.
“No, you look too thin by far and a little grumpy,” Yuffie said, still gazing up at
“Grumpy?” Genesis questioned. “Darling, really? I look grumpy?”
“Oh, Genesis, come on!” Yuffie laughed, and turned her attention to him instead. “Of course you look fabulous! You always do! I just know how it’s bothering you that Reeve isn’t here.”
Genesis frowned and said, “We’re not discussing him. Tart.”
“Oh yeah, I forgot,” Yuffie said. “Harpy.”
“Oh!”
They glared at one another for a long moment.
“Say, isn’t that the President’s mistress? I didn’t think she’d be here, not when his wife is…”
They both looked up at the box, forgetting that they were supposed to be fighting.
Reeve had never been much for films, but he sat through the showings and managed not to fall asleep. He was seated far from Genesis’s, but he could see the animated and flamboyant redhead chattering away at one of his many entourage members. Yuffie sat next to him, and every once in awhile she would strain back to make sure Reeve hadn’t thought better of the evening.
He’d considered it, but he lacked the Gil to get himself home, and since he was already here…Well, he’d put it down to not wanting to disappoint Yuffie, because it surely wasn’t because he didn’t want to disappoint Genesis! And besides, Yuffie had sat with him for a portion of the day in his hotel room and they’d had a rather pleasant time. He was starting to believe that maybe he’d been wrong about her, that maybe she wasn’t a pampered and outrageous princess with habits that would appall him. He also considered that he was making excuses, but it all came down to one thing – if they could manage to be together, wasn’t there a chance he could bring her away from her awful habits? He was sitting through film after film of happy endings, of men reformed, of lives touched, of unrequited feelings suddenly requited…if that was a word…Was it so awful of him to hope? Would he be considered a foolish, arrogant man for wanting to make her better? He knew women routinely got their hands on men with the idea of changing them, like they could just pick one out and start from scratch crafting the perfect mate. It very rarely worked, Reeve knew, but the concept was the same.
And she looked so lovely in her shiny silver dress…a vision almost lovely enough to make him ignore the fact that she was chomping gum like a cow chewing cud and had no compunctions trading soul kisses with the obviously high man next to her.
“And now we would like to honor one of the world’s most genius creative forces in film and fashion,” the host announced, beaming at them all as the house lights came up slightly. “You saw him first as a child prodigy out of Banora, studying under the master fashionista Lux, but he quickly outpaced his mentor to take his place as the premier designer for all things stage and film related. Not to be content with design of the tactile level, he extended his talents into directing and producing, as well as writing some our best loved screenplays. His contributions to the world of art have not been limited to stage or screen – he has taken his efforts to those around the world who suffer from lack of material comforts, forming such foundations as The Children’s World Hunger Organization and Homes for the Homeless, based out of Midgar. He has become a household name, a pillar of our artistic community, a tireless contributor and advocate, and we are proud to call him one of our own. Ladies and gentlemen, please, enjoy this montage of films from our very own beloved Genesis Rhapsodos!”
Reeve stared at the screen as it was filled with clips of Genesis’s work – dark films, moody films, clips of emotion, of people at their highest and lowest. There was an effortless poetry to the visualization that made him realize that Genesis was a true artist in his field.
But one clip stuck out to him the most. In fact, after he had seen it, he could not get it out of his head. It was a clip from a movie exploring the struggle of one man’s faith in a god and in his family. The scenes were dark, the atmosphere oppressive, the man’s turn of mind both horrifying and yet frighteningly easy to identify with. And over the clip was the voice-over of Genesis from an interview, saying, “I had one quote in mind when I created the backdrops for this film. It comes from one of my own personal favorites, in which a man says, ‘Did you ever notice how in the Bible when God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood.’*…”
It struck Reeve, suddenly and deeply. Over and over in his mind he heard, ‘…one wing dipped in blood…’ and saw the fluttering despair of one-winged angels. He felt something form in his mind’s eye, and he realized that he was going to paint something, not from memory but from pure inspiration, for the first time in his life.
He was so distracted by it that he nearly missed Genesis striding up to the stage to begin his speech, but in that same second someone touched his arm and he saw the usher ready to take him backstage.
For whatever it was worth, he was going to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Genesis.
In front of millions of people.
With cameras rolling live.
Reeve swallowed hard and made his way backstage on wobbly, unsteady legs.
“Zack! Zack!”
He snapped out of his depressed musings when he heard Neala shrieking for him, the echoes of her high, panicked voice preceding the sharp patter of her feet on the floor as she ran towards him.
He turned around and found her wild-eyed, tears streaming down her face.
“Zack! Come quick! It’s Kadaj!” she babbled, dancing in place as she tried to get nearer and go back at the same time. “Please! I think he’s going to kill her!”
He rushed past her, quickly outpacing her short legs as he fled towards
He heard the shocking crashes and snarls coming from inside and burst into
She dragged the heavy, charred wooden doors closed and Zack dashed to the foyer to see Kadaj and Mei Li in an actual spar.
Both of them were bloody, both of them were panting with exertion, but when Mei Li murmured something to Kadaj, the boy found the energy to fling himself at her again, getting a death-grip on her hair and jerking hard.
“Stop!” Zack shouted, and unhesitatingly wedged himself between them. “Knock it off!”
He flung Kadaj away and the boy snarled, rounding on him like a vicious animal. As Zack parried the boy’s wild punches, he heard Mei Li gain her feet behind him.
“I will kill her!” Kadaj screamed, and yanked away from Zack as suddenly as he had attacked him. With a sharp shriek of metal, the souba was unsheathed and in Kadaj’s trembling hand.
“Kadaj, no!” he cried.
“I dare you,” Mei Li purred, and pulled a pin from her tousled hair, the end wickedly sharp.
They both lunged towards each other and Zack sprang between them. Caught between a violently angry Cetran minx and an incoming Wutain assassin, Zack responded the only way he knew how.
He gave Kadaj a hit to the belly that dropped him and spun to slap the flat of his hand against Mei Li’s breastbone to stop her in her tracks.
There was an odd, muted popping noise and the woman’s brown eyes widened. Slowly, the corners of her red-smeared, full mouth curved up in a rueful smile and Zack stared uncomprehendingly as her eyes rolled back into her head.
“Mei Li?” he whispered, Kadaj gasping behind his back, panting.
Her body slumped slowly to the floor, the pin falling from her lax hand.
“Mei Li?”
He heard Kadaj stir behind him, startled out of his anger.
“Zack?”
The man ignored him, his heart pounding with bitter fear as he moved to kneel next to the woman’s limp body. Frantic and already filling with guilt, he pressed his fingers to her throat, vainly trying to find a pulse, breathing, “Oh no, no, no, please…please, no…”
“Zack?”
He searched her wrists, trying to understand it. He hadn’t hit her hard…had he?
“Zack!” Kadaj sharply said.
He looked up at that bewildered and flushed young face and lowly said, “She’s dead, Kadaj. She’s dead.”
“Oh, how wonderful!”
“What?”
“Whatever happened with Genesis,”
“I don’t discuss it with anybody,”
“I’m really glad you brought me,” he finally whispered, making sure not to disturb the Setoran President or his wife and mistress.
“Yeah?”
“I do,”
“You got it,” the man said, and brushed a kiss across
Yazoo smiled and felt the warmth of Reno’s love filling that emptiness inside him, making him whole, making him new – and he thought that nothing could ever damage his newfound happiness.
Rude had watched from afar, as always.
He’d watched
The man looked at
But Rude saw it, and it made him even more disconcerted.
It was one thing to sweep victory out of the hands of a vicious criminal, and quite another to steal the drug of an addict, and that was what he was seeing in those unguarded moments – it was an addiction that Reno felt for Yazoo, a need divorced from finer emotions. It would be much harder now, he felt, because if Reno refused to give Yazoo up, then Rude would have no choice but to emerge from the shadows and expose his plan in the enactment.
It was not something he relished, but he would do it. Time was running short, and he still had the feeling that whatever
And so he sat in his stolen vehicle outside of the Stadium with one eye trained on
“…and to all my fans, and lastly but not least importantly, to my lover, Reeve,” Genesis was saying, his slender back swaying with his graceful movements as he gestured.
Reeve nearly dropped the award, he was so startled to hear himself mentioned in the long, long, long list of people to whom Genesis felt he owed his creative genius. On trembling legs, he took first one, and then two steps towards that figure standing at the podium, and heard the crowd break into applause.
“…who sadly couldn’t…be…here…” Genesis trailed off, looking around as the crowd rose to their feet, clapping wildly. His bright blue eyes lit on Reeve and the small, rather mousy painter knew it was all over but the crying.
Genesis brought his hand to his mouth and tears welled in his incandescent blue eyes – honest to gods tears. With that dramatic gesture behind him, he crossed the length of the smooth, polished floor with two graceful, long-legged, platform-stiletto heeled strides, and swept Reeve up into a hug that hauled him off of his feet.
“Oh, darling!” he cried, and Reeve could hardly hear him over the roaring approval of the crowd.
‘Should have guessed it, with this lot,’ Reeve sourly thought, but it was half-hearted. He spied Yuffie, on her feet and screaming, clapping wildly, jumping up and down. He saw
“Darling! Darling!” Genesis sobbed, laughing and delighted. He swung Reeve back and forth, the man’s small feet dangling, and gave him a quick, teasing kiss on his stunned lips. “Oh, darling! I just knew you would come!”
Reeve blushed to the tips of his toes and managed to intelligently say, “…uh…”
“No no!” Genesis admonished, and somehow managed to press his fishnet gloved finger to Reeve’s mouth. “No words! You speak to my soul, my darling! Oh!”
Over the roar of the crowd someone was trying to make themselves heard and Reeve realized the ushers were urging them to finish up – they were filming live and running short on time.
Genesis put Reeve down next to him – a full foot and a half taller than Reeve in those heels – and waved at the crowd, openly crying with happiness. After some urging on his part, Reeve tentatively waved at the crowd, sure that he must look like a beet with a goatee from the force of his blushing.
“Thank you! Thank you all! Thank you!” Genesis kept calling, kissing his hand and blowing them out to the crowd. He took the award from Reeve and hefted it, getting a renewal in the force of crowd approval.
After several long, surreal moments, Reeve felt Genesis take his hand, and the pair of them exited stage left to the standing ovation of a screaming, overjoyed crowd.
It seemed Zack sat there for hours, gazing down at Mei Li’s limp, pale body. She looked different in death, without her personality or charm to animate the dead clay of her body.
He distantly heard Kadaj on the phone, but he didn’t bother to listen. He knew who the boy had called – the only one who could help, since
“I’m so sorry,” he breathed, touching her cooling cheek, closing the lids over her sightless brown eyes. Her black eye makeup came off on his fingertips, along with smudges of the white paint she used to cover her face. He felt it there, thick and ruined, a solid reminder of yet another who had died through his incompetence, by his own hand.
“Zack, we will take care of this,” Kadaj said, coming to him. He seemed cowed by the hand he’d had in things, though he had never said he was sorry.
And perhaps he wasn’t. He’d been angry enough to kill her himself, but Zack had done so in his gross attempt to keep them both alive.
When he got no response, the boy left him alone, and after another long period of staring at Mei Li’s lax face, Zack heard him admit the Wutain man into this tragedy.
Tseng took in the scene with calm, brown eyes, his face smooth and blank, his suit impeccable and his features schooled to show nothing.
“Well,” he purred, gazing down at Mei Li’s body, no flicker of recognition in his gaze. “This is certainly an unforeseen event.”
Zack expected him to get angry, to express some kind of outrage. After all, they had spoken at the Gala like they knew each other well…
“I will take care of this…problem for you,” the man said, and his dark eyes flicked to Kadaj. “On one condition – return to Wutai with me.”
Zack flinched and immediately said, “Kadaj, no – I can go to the police – ”
“You’ll make this go away?” Kadaj asked, his voice sharp with worry. He utterly ignored Zack’s pleading offer, not even entertaining the notion.
“Kadaj!”
“Consider it done,” Tseng mildly said. He gestured towards Mei Li’s body and said, “I will have this disposed of while everything is packed, and we will leave this very night.”
Zack fell into sickened silence, knowing it was a lost cause.
“One thing,” Kadaj suddenly said. “I will go with you, I will leave my lover to keep Zack safe, but there is one thing I must do before I leave. It is a promise I must keep.”
“Name it,” Tseng said.
Kadaj smiled sadly and, instead, left the room.
Once he had, Tseng leaned down and laid his hand on Mei Li’s brow, murmuring something softly to her that held the low tones of sadness. When he was finished, he looked up at Zack, and the former-Brother knew in that instant that the man had no intentions of helping him.
Getting him out of the way? Yes. Helping? No. Zack wouldn’t leave
“I will not try to mislead you,” the Wutain man purred, his smile cold and hard. “You know what happens next, I think.”
“Yeah,” Zack said, and already his mind was awhirl with thoughts.
Tseng took a deep breath and said, “Reno has made it known to me that there is a body chute he uses at such times as it suits him to rid himself of the unwanted. Do you know where it is?”
Zack swallowed hard and said, “Yes. I do.”
Tseng’s smile widened and he murmured, “You take me there, now.”
“What about Mei Li?” Zack asked, not wanting her body to be defiled as his, surely, would be.
“I will take her home where she belongs,” Tseng murmured. “Eternal rest in the land of such barbarians would be poor reward for her service.”
The man gazed at him for a long time, and then held out his delicate hand.
“Your ID and passes,” he said.
Zack dug them out of his pocket, aware of Mei Li’s presence, still mourning her passing. But it wouldn’t matter soon. Soon, he would pay for what he’d done.
Because Zack was going down to the Butchers.
It was a whirlwind evening for Reeve, who had never been one for parties or such nonsense – but the celebratory air would not be denied, and there was no better place to let loose than in the capital of Setora.
He drank, and drank some more. He danced, and danced some more. He tried anything and everything to make that picture in his mind come clear, that picture folded into Genesis’s vision of a man without guidance, fumbling alone on his path. An angel, with one wing dipped in blood.
Genesis, surprisingly, didn’t pester him much over the course of the night. The man seemed to know that Reeve was out of sorts, and probably afraid that his nearness would provoke another earnest round of “I’m not your boyfriend,” and so he stayed safely away, though how he danced in those ridiculous heels, Reeve would never know.
At some point in the night he thought he saw
He couldn’t say that he enjoyed himself much, but when he saw Genesis standing next to the caterer’s tables, an apple in hand and a smug, secretive look on his face, Reeve knew he had the final piece to his composition, the memory that would make it true.
He stumbled and staggered his way to the elevator and took the lift to his room, collapsing in a heap of exhausted talent and his burning hunger to paint once more.
Zack was never sure, in the end, why he didn’t fight it.
It could be that his guilt was just that strong, or that the part of him that had craved justice felt that this needed to be served.
And so he stared at the black, gaping hole of that chute to the pits of hell, and he did nothing. He did nothing. He looked at the patterns of blood, rusty and old, each one a silent record of another human’s life. He looked at the darkness and wondered if it moved and seethed as much as the steam billowing out from below. He breathed in the scent of death and rot, of despair and horror, and he did nothing.
He could have fought. He knew Tseng was no fool, no one to be underestimated – the man was dangerous, he very obviously had a more than working knowledge of death and its uses. He could have used any number of the Brotherhood’s Ways and escaped…but to what?
He’d failed. Once more, when someone had been in need, Zack had fallen short. Another life lost at his hands. Another person snuffed out of existence, and all of their hopes, their dreams, their little pains and longings cut short.
There was no place left to run, no way to escape the inevitability of facing what he had done. He, too, would die, and the sacrilege worked on his flesh would be eternal punishment for his failings.
He kept his back to Tseng, who had no qualms with it. The man stood in the dim, ugly room in his pristine suit and evinced only impatience to get this over with. He had Kadaj to get back to, a life…and Zack had nothing anymore.
“He was never meant for such as you,” Tseng told him, his voice cold and emotionless. “And I will not have you telling tales.”
“I wouldn’t expect you would,” Zack breathed, bracing for it.
When it came, it was less than he had expected. There was a soft hiss, and the blossoming pain of the bullet penetrating his back, but it was not a vital wound. He slumped forward and pressed his hand to the stain of blood that followed in the wake of that bullet, and turned his incredulous eyes to Tseng.
The man smirked down at him and murmured, “Let’s see what they will do with meat that is still kicking, shall we?”
Zack shuddered, cold stealing over him, but kept his eyes wide as the darkness rushed up around him, ushering him straight to hell.
* "Did you ever notice how in the Bible when God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you really want to meet an angel?"

Date: 2009-11-03 08:38 pm (UTC)Waaahhhhhh, Mei Li!!!!!!!
...I have not seen The Prophecy. It seems I must remedy that.
Awwww, Reeve and Genesis!! :D
Ohhh, cliff hanger for poor Zack. :(
I was surprised myself that there weren't more comments on the last episode. I don't think the writing was off at all. I am still absolutely loving this and look forward to it every Monday, so I vote for it to keep going, if you're still enjoying it.

Date: 2009-11-04 05:04 pm (UTC)Thank you, boo boo! So much! You're always right there for me, and it means the world to me! I was starting to think that my writing was going downhill fast, but it looks like people were just waiting for the next installment, so I can put my fears to rest! Thank you, though, for giving me your vote of confidence! I adore you *snuggles*! And yes, I am thoroughly enjoying writing the soap!
Yes, a lot happening in this one, lol! And you DO need to watch The Prophecy, if only because Christopher Walken plays an amazing Angel Gabriel, and a very young Viggo Mortensen shows as the devil :D
Cliff hangers galore! And more to come! Thanks again, boo boo! You're the best!

Date: 2009-11-03 09:12 pm (UTC)This is going in such different directions. Reeve 'giving in' and getting used to being Genesis' boyfriend. Even finding the muse for an excellent painting.
And then comes the complete opposite in the scene with Zack, Kadaj and Mei Li. It's a shame she's dead, I really liked her. Zack to the butchers? Fuck. I'll keep hoping that he comes out of there alive somehow. The whole plan is a wonderful example that Tseng is a fitting definition for 'evil'.
Reno deserves getting his ass kicked for still wanting to go through with the plan. But I doubt that Rude will let him do it. This storyline is one big cliffhanger cause I'm constantly waiting for the whole thing to blow up.
You should keep up the soap, it's excellent. I enjoyed every single one of those 50+ chapters. So I'd love to see the rest of Season One and a Season Two :)

Date: 2009-11-04 04:57 pm (UTC)I'm really happy that the two very different scenes worked the way I was hoping! Happiness and high hopes on one end of the spectrum, despair and death on the other. And it was inevitable that Reeve would be Genesis's boyfriend - he could only say no so many times before he just gave up, lol!
I'm sorry Mei Li is dead, I liked her, too! But this is a Soap, so she may yet have a chance! And keep your fingers crossed for Zack, we're not done with him yet!
Tseng definitely wins the award for evil!
The Reno/Yazoo/Rude issue will be resolved in the next two episodes, and I think it will surprise everyone. At least I hope so!
And thank you, honey! I will keep writing the soap as long as people want to keep reading! *snuggles you* Thank you again for your comment!

Date: 2009-11-03 09:15 pm (UTC)Reeve's inspiration of (a great movie by the way), the way you bring in Genesis from Crisis Core (the apple, the wing). The juxtapostion of the excitement of the gala with Zack's despair (and ours because Kadaj is going to Wutai with Tseng which is such a bad idea.
I have a feeling I know what the Butchers will do with still-kicking Zack-meat, which is nothing, but I could be wrong. Or they'll leave the body alone but deal with all his emotional/mental scars. Shit! I have to wait a week to find out. B[
I didn't get a chance to finish the previous part (stupid work, etc) which is why I didn't comment. Now that I've seen what you were leading up to, my comment might be a little different. I shall go back and finish it... and hope my boss' meeting runs late. =p
(Reeve is doomed to be Genesis' sweetie. It'll be good for him.)

Date: 2009-11-04 04:53 pm (UTC)And woot for The Prophecy! It's one of my all-time favorites, I couldn't resist! I wanted to have a nod to Genesis's true character - the moody and poetic being of great tragedy and even greater depth. He deserves that, and the best way to get that to him is through a painting by Reeve - not done out of memory, but out of inspiration. And I tried to balance it right - the glitz and good times with the sordid horror of what was happening to Zack.
I have a feeling you know what they will do, too :D You're one of the very few who even realized what happened when he first ran into the Butchers, everyone else was too freaked out, I guess, lol!
And no worries, I shouldn't be such an insecure jerk to you guys, it is my bad, for reals!
And yes, Reeve has no way out now! Hehee!
Thank you, honey! For reals!

Date: 2009-11-03 09:22 pm (UTC)This was, imho one of the best episodes you have ever written!!!!!! The intensity and the gut-wrenching scenes with Zack. The darkness! My palms are sweaty and my heart is beating so hard in my chest it hurts!
I can't really express what I want to do to Tseng right now. It wouldn't be... pretty.
The film festival, the Genesis-award (hehe!), the horribly foreboding feeling I got about Yazoo... Rude moving into action... God, honey, you're killing me! This is so good!

Date: 2009-11-04 04:49 pm (UTC)And hehe, Genesis truly is very dramatic, I love him to bits!
Yazoo's story is going to close with the season, so it's coming!

Date: 2009-11-03 10:33 pm (UTC)And OMG !!
I feel almost bad for laughing at the Genesis/Reeve part now ! But it was freaking hilarious, what can I say.. Crying, no less ! :P and theres more to Genesis obviously than a pretty face ! Under all those fancy clothes, he is a true Mother Theresa ! XDDD (but I have to admit, I will never understand why he fell for someone as mousy as Reeve, must be a case of opposites attract :p)
Yazoo... Im not going to whine again, thats all I do when I talk about him/her. But the part where she (yes, Im starting to think of him as a she, go figure..) dreams about the future.. that was just too much.. :(
And you killed Mei Li ! (well, she obviously killed herself, didnt she ?) and you killed Zach ! :O (or maybe not.. who knows...) And Kadaj is going to follow the awful Tseng now ? I cannot believe it ! :( Thanks god for Cloud knowing what he knows..
Ok, I have never been waiting so bad for the next chapter than now ! XD

Date: 2009-11-04 04:30 pm (UTC)The Genesis and Reeve part was designed to lull you before the blow of Zack's "death?" so I'm glad to hear that it worked! And Genesis is a drama queen, hands down, so he ate that moment up! And I think he fell for Reeve because Reeve is a nice man, and Genesis hasn't met many of those in his jaded lifestyle. Reeve is just Reeve, no frills or deceit, and that would be attractive to a man like Genesis.
Yazoo...yeah, she's worrying me, and I know what's coming! All of this hopeful dreaming of the future...yeah...
And yes, Mei Li managed to enact Tseng's plan. Sad to see her go, I really liked her! And Kadaj is in it now, if he's going with Tseng, because that is probably the worst possible thing he could do!
Monday I think I will just post two installments all at once instead of on separate days, it'll be easier that way!
Thank you, honey! It means the world to me!

Date: 2009-11-04 01:19 am (UTC)And Mei Li, omg tell me she isn't dead. Maybe she's in a coma and will come out of it somewhere down the line? Yeah?
God-this chapter is so awesome, I'm beside myself with the suspense of it all. Seriously you can't stop now. You must continue writing this forever!!!
The award ceremony was awesome. For some reason I thought that Yuffie was up to something, like she was going to try and steal Reeve away or something, but I was pleasantly surprised. She set them up good. Reeve and Genesis would be so good together they're both artists plus Genesis just inspired Reeve to create something origional.
My heart is breaking for Yazoo, Reno is so going to hurt her bad.
I really truly honest to god loved this episode. I cannot wait for next week's update. <3<3<3

Date: 2009-11-04 04:22 pm (UTC)And Mei Li...well, I was sad to see her go...I really liked her, too!
I'm really happy you liked the update! I was starting to worry because I'm terrible about that sort of thing! I will keep writing as long as people are interested!
Hehe! The award ceremony was hilarious to write! And Yuffie may very well be up to something, but she's such a ditz she will probably forget about it before she can pull any tricks out of her huge bag. And I think Reeve and Genesis have just become my new favorite (if not a little reluctant, on Reeve's side) pair!
Yazoo is in dangerous water, and she doesn't even have the sense to swim, it makes me sad, but it must be!
Thank you so much, honey! I really do appreciate it!

Date: 2009-11-04 04:18 pm (UTC)Tseng should scare you, he's very dangerous and not at all scrupulous, so yeah. I think Kadaj has made a split second decision that he will regret....
Reno is juggling things the only way he knows how, but it is inevitable that it won't go well for Yazoo, who is far too naive for her own good.
And lol at Genesis and Reeve! Those two are the oddest match made in heaven I've ever seen!
And Zack...well, there's more to come for our dear boy, but not until Season Two.
Thank you for the comment, honey! I was starting to doubt myself! I'm so co-dependent on you guys, it really isn't fair to you *snuggles you*

Date: 2009-11-06 03:07 am (UTC)I know it. Tseng gives me chills.
And Reno...is Reno. Still makes me wanna put a shoe in his butt.
Oh yeah. They're just...Awwwww! So adorable.
Man, I seem to not be able to wait for Season Two the way you keep talking about it.
Youre very, very welcome. I write over on FFdotNet so I know how the review thing goes. I'm co-dpendent on my readers, too. Lol. I completely understand. *snuggles*

Date: 2009-11-04 04:13 am (UTC)I did like that Reeve is starting to fall for Genesis XD However, I have to admit I'm getting more than a little bit impatient with the Rude subplot. I do hope that resolves itself soon, because you've been stringing us along for quite a while now... XD I think if you are doing a season two, I'd recommend tying off some plot lines and providing resolution to the long-standing things like Rude (for example). I see you've started to do that with Tseng and Kadaj and Mei Li, which is good. (Why do you have to put us all through Zack's death AGAIN? XD Don't you know his REAL death is traumatizing enough?! And I haven't even finished CC! XD)
That having been said I'd love a season two. Because it would be a shame to quit when Reeve and Gen are finally almost together, and Lazard is here, and Tseng is here, and Rufus needs to get his ass kicked... hahaha.

Date: 2009-11-04 04:15 pm (UTC)And you doubt me?! My love! I am so wounded! *said Genesis-style* Of COURSE they are wrapping up! That's what the finale is for! Most, if not all, of the plots will be brought to a close with Monday's and Tuesday's finale episodes, never fear! I got you, baby, I got you.
I'll see about a Season Two, if you guys are all on board for more! And thank you again, honey!!!

Yes. Wants more. XD Lazard and Rufus competition and scheming. waaaant. *flail* XD So, uh, yeah. If you don't mind writing more, of course!

Date: 2009-11-04 07:04 am (UTC)Felt bad for Mei Li, since she had to die for stupid Tseng's cause. Don't particularly care about Reno and Yazoo since their relationship in this drama kind of bores me but love everybody else! So yeah, keep on continuing this series!

Date: 2009-11-04 04:19 pm (UTC)Get up bitch! Get up and stab Tseng's ass with your hairpin of death!
Kadaj wtf man? I'm gonna slap the shit out of you, geez!
Tseng...gah, normally I'm a huge Tseng fan but you make me hate him so good....... <3
Reeve and Genesis are made for each other.
Reno you bastard!
Yazoo...argh so pretty and naive it kills me but she's so happy right now I don't have the heart to snapp her out of it.
Oh Reno! *slaps Reno around a bit* Hey dumbass your plan is gonna cost you both Kadaj AND Yazoo! Rufus ain't worth it! Shit I don't even know what Reno's getting out of the deal aside for tapping Yazoo's sweet ass ...although that in and of its self is pretty ballin'....
Rude fuckin' A man DO SOMETHING!! Go all Tom Clancey on their asses and Splinter Cell them! Gah just DO SOMETHING! Someone! Fuck all I'LL go in the story and set these fucker straight and that won't be pretty!
You know I love the fuck out of your amazing epicness though right? :D
You're amazing and awesome, even if it pushes me to madness. lol

Date: 2009-11-06 06:03 pm (UTC)And, aw, don't be too mad at Kadaj, he was being provoked to cause her death, and he did what he felt was necessary to make sure that Zack wasn't put away for his crimes, although as a Cetran he really should have seen Tseng killing Zack coming at him, it was pretty obvious.
Reeve and Genesis are made of win, hehe!
Reno IS a huge bastard! And Yazoo's state of mind is just going to make the ending of it that much harder.
Rude will do something in the finale, no worries. He has his chance and he does what he set out to do ;)
I love the fuck out of you, too :D *snuggles your madness*

Date: 2009-11-05 12:46 pm (UTC)My god, Mei li's real death by Zack's hands was a stunning surprise and I don't know,( by the last episodes) if she's actually dead or if it was just a way to Tseng get rid of Zack's. I don't want to believe that Zack would die or worst , butcher for that hot body!?( Nooooooo!) Anyway, just to say that this part of the soap- Zack, Mei Li, Kadaj and Tseng are one of my favorite! The concept of their personalities, their inner demons, life, and the odd and strong bond among them...Perfect! A tragical drama was born there, and I can't wait to see what would happen!
Yazoo and Reno, poor babe, I already feeling for her and hating Reno...Other amazing sensation that you made us felt: Yazoo's femininity is so well drawing that's impossible imagine HER, as a man. Reno in the begining was that kind of hot mobster who every girl in a once would fall for, but now he was really a vilain and I have no doubt that he would harm badly whoever would stay in his way. Even Yazoo. Now, let's see who's is Rude...man, I afraid to ask...
Gen and Reeve rocks this soap and their slow/unsure-by Reeve's side of curse/ hot feelings for each other are the fresh of the soap. Gods,I can't wait for their time together!
Ok...I wrote more than a chapter here, but it was in fact 03 comments in one, since the last one's I didn't comment. You're awesome and I'm very happy to see Soap going on!
Love and kisses dear Stacey!

Date: 2009-11-06 05:21 pm (UTC)There is so much happening in the last rush of this season that I'm afraid everyone will be left only with more questions - but a good deal of the plot elements will be wrapped up here, that is for sure.
I'm so glad my vision of Reno and Yazoo has come across so clearly! It made me wriggle when I read your descriptions of them, because that is EXACTLY what I was hoping for!!!
There will definitely be more from Genesis and Reeve, and we WILL finally find out what Rude has been up to all this time! Stick with me, honey, I think we're going to go for a Season Two after next week's Anniversary Episode :D
Thank you for the amazing review, Bela! I luffs you, kid!

Date: 2009-11-11 10:24 pm (UTC)Reeve and Genesis are win! I'm so glad you like them! The description will come later in Season Two, as Reeve really starts to get into it. But there will eventually be a good description, I promise! And I would love to see what you can come up with!!!

Date: 2010-04-28 01:14 am (UTC)So why was Mei Li so easy to kill? How'd she pull that one off? And Zack making it so easy to get thrown down to the Butchers. What's he thinking?! Ah, but I'm also thinking Tseng should know better than to leave him alive. Hmm.
